Her eyes glisten in fascination.
Studying those lights.
Cool glitters against the auburn sky.

Take me to the sky.

"Hold tight." He says.
She grips the chains.

She nods.

His strong arms give one hefty push...
And the force sweeps her up.

The wind starts to tickle.
And it makes her laugh.

She sees her pink shoes touch the tips of the lights.
And for a moment, the breath is gone.


... She flies.


But the rusted bars creak.
And the swing snatches low.

The backs of her shoes scrape grass...

She lowers her head and sees
Her legs are too long.

... I want to walk on the sky forever.


"It's all you now." He calls.
His fingers leave her back.

It's only you now.
You're on your own.

One last push- she thinks to say.

I want to see the sky.

"Daddy... I'll hold tight." She firmly insists.

But he only shakes his head.
And suddenly the lights are gone.

She looks down and notices the dry grass on the ground.

"No." He finally says.

"Let go."

The sky is gone, honey.
